Konstantin Veliki i Križ - povijesni spektakl iz 1961. Hvala na ovom biografskom filmu o Konstantinu Velikom. Rim, period između 293. i 312. godine poslije Krista. Utjecaj Kršćana sve je jači. Kršćanin se ne boji smrti, poučen učenjima svog velikog spasitelja Isusa Krista, smrt je za njega novi život, premda su kazne za Kršćane u Rimu bile vrlo surove - živi ljudi bili bi bačeni gladnim lavovima. Konstantin Veliki u vrijeme vladavine Dioklecijana, rimskog kralja (Gaj Aurelije Valerije Dioklecijan) sve više uviđa nepravdu i surovost Rima prema onima koji mu se suprostavljaju i oslobađa kršćanske robove od sigurne smrti u areni. S vremenom sam Konstantin staje na stranu Kršćana i bori se za pravdu i jednakost među ljudima. Sve kulminira građanskim ratom unutar samog Rima. Konstantin sakuplja brojnu vojnu formaciju i kreće protiv samog Rima kako bi se suprotstavio samoproglašenom kralju Maksenciju, vladaru cijele Italije i Afrike. Na putu u Rim, Konstantin je doživio mistično iskustvo ugledavši na nebu, iznad sunca, svijetli križ s natpisom ''Pobjeđuj ovime''! Stavivši Kristov monogram na štitove vlastite vojske, Konstantin je postao Kršćanin, vjeran Bogu, te porazio Maksencija. Građani Rima proglasili su ga ''Konstantin Veliki''.

There is a lot of information online about the father, Mary, and the brother. The father and brother were Republicans. There is the Peter Pan Park in Emporia. The father donated the land for the park. There is a bust of the father and plaques telling Mary's story.

I have this film recorded. Watch whenever I need a boost and a laugh. Love Frank Morgan in one of is non-blithering roles. Oh, he's entertaining in those, but this one is special.

The black and white era of movies made it such that it added to the atmosphere of the movie whether it be a film noir/crime or a very sad story as well as the nuances and lighting made its impact. Two very good actors - Sophia became an icon as for Anthony I believe never got the status he deserved. He always had a strong presence on screen and had an attractive demeanour about him. Both talented and represented their characters extremely well in a time where simple stories became poignant by their acting. Thank you for this as I don't recall seeing this one before.

A really enjoyable film! Good writing. Good acting. Good timing. A real treat in these contentious times in which everyone seems to hate anyone who disagrees with them. In the 40's most were civilized as long as you did not violate the race and gender norms. But many did work-arounds.

It gets more hilarious when you realize that he’s pretty much just screaming at a dog 😂

Good movie, I watched a similar movie called Switching Channels released in 1988 with Kathleen Turner, Christopher Reeves, and Burt Reynolds, it must be a remake of this movie.

My mom tore up pictures of her mom in dance halls, etc if there was an ashtray or drink on the table🙄 i like picturing my grandmother as an actress in these movies dancing and enjoying her youth before becoming pg and duped by a man that left her to raise said mom alone. 😢 Women were expected and assumed to have morals but men could do as they chose 😡
